I just saw their crab cakes on Dinners Drive-In and Dives. I can't wait to come find your food truck when I fly back to Newport Beach, if the stay at home is ever lifted here.
Singaporean food! Whut?? I was born and raised in Singapore, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to find this place. It did not disappoint. I tried the Chilli Crab Burger, a juicy crabcake in sweet chilli dressing with a generous side of crispy lotus root chips. I am salivating just thinking about it! It was reasonably priced (about $10) considering it was a crab sandwich. It is easy to order and the food is prepared quickly. My husband had the Singapore Sloppy Joe, and he thought it was very unique and flavorful. If you're looking for a unique foodie experience, this is it! Come and try Singaporean food and you'll start looking at asian food differently! Chomp Chomp Nation is located in the Wholesome Choice food court, in case you have difficulty finding them! There is plenty of seating available.
My wife and I went there yesterday. We had the soft shell crab and spicy crab sandwiches which were superbly augmented with natural herbs and condiments. In addition, the owner had great customer service. If you're looking for something different than the standard burger, this is it. They're located in the Wholesome Choice food court, La Palma and Imperial Highway just off the 91, Anaheim Hills.
My god the food here was GOOD!! Having had not so positive experiences at the other dining options in the Wholesome Choice Market, Chomp Chomp turned it all around with a fantastic meal I could eat over and over again. Menu is great, short but every single item so unique, best to come with a few friends and get to try more. We went with the falafel for myself and the rib eye for my husband and I was so obsessed with both, I could not say which one I enjoyed more and I usually don't like meat, especially not beef, so this will be one of those few places I would return to and eat the beef enjoying every sticky sweet bite. The chips are crack, some of the best ever as well, wish they were seasoned or at least salted, but the texture and crunch is heaven. Service was great, made to order in less than 10 minutes, prices are fair at around $10 per burger with chips and fruit. Worth checking out, I cannot wait to be back for more!
I loved their food truck, so when I heard they were in the Wholesome Choice by my house, I had to get over here ASAP for some food! Today I went and grabbed lunch. They open at 11, I was there by 11:20-ish and I think I was the first customer of the day. The man working was really friendly, he took my order and told me it would be about 10 minutes. I walked around the store during that time and came back just as he was finishing my food. If you aren't familiar with Wholesome Choice, you order from them in the food court, but take your food to a register in the front and pay for it. Lunch was $18. I got the Tiger's Blood Tea, which is hibiscus with lychee jelly. Soooo good, get it! I ordered the Crispy Shrimp & Chicken Satay. I didn't realize they would be served as two whole meals, both with some sort of slaw, one had rice cubes and other taro chips. So, I definitely had leftovers. The food was delicious, as always. I know we will be coming here often!
Located inside Wholesome Choice's food court: Tiger Prawn and Lobster Laksa (daily special, check their Facebook page to see if they are selling it) is a popular spicy noodle soup - combination of Chinese and Malay flavors. The soup is a rich and spicy coconut milk curry with tiger prawns, lobster, Asian meatballs, rice, vermicelli and topped with hardboiled egg, bean sprouts, green onion, and chili pepper. This is one of the most balanced, harmonized dished I've ever had! It is spicy but the flavor is so addictive, you can't stop eating it. Rating: 5/5 Marinated Ribeye Steak is thinly shaved ribeye steak in Chomp Chomp Nation's signature marinade of tamarind, brown sugar, shallots, spice seasoning, and topped with a light vinaigrette slaw ($10). The ribeye is the Singaporean take on teriyaki beef, yet a little different. The meat is tender and the tamarind and brown sugar give it a Southeast Asian flavor. The slaw gives it a crunchy texture and adds the right amount of acidic balance to the sandwich. I love the side of root chips as well - taro chips are my favorite! Rating: 4.5/5 Green PhalaPhal Burger is a seasoned green falafel patty (freshly picked chickpeas), mint curry lime yogurt raita, and topped with fresh pea sprouts ($8). The patty is unlike the Middle Eastern version where the exterior is very crispy and the interior is very dry. This patty is crisp on the outside, but very moist and tender within. It makes the perfect vegetarian alternative for a burger. The pea sprouts add a nice refreshing green flavor. Rating: 4.5/5 Tiger Blood Tea is made with hibiscus and lychee gel cubes on the bottom. I'm not a tea drinker, but I love this drink. It's sweet, but not too sweet with a refreshing tropical fruit flavor. I love lychee so the gel cubes were onolicious! Rating: 5/5
